Tom was born in Canada and was an international high school Science teacher before moving to Perth, Western Australia. He came to Perth in 2020 to be with his now wife. 


It was then he decided to use his scientific knowledge and education skills to help adults navigate the world of wine. Starting in wine retail, Tom moved into hospitality when he became a Sommelier, and then a Group Beverage Manager. While developing his career, Tom now has his WSET Level 3 and is currently a WSET Diploma Candidate. 


With his professional experience and knowledge, Tom founded Somm Advantage because he passionately believes that anyone deserves the advantages of having a Somm.
